As a life-long resident of Lafayette, Larry has been involved with the LCF’s annual Garage Tour and Winemaker’s Dinner fund raisers and has served as chair and co-chair for these events. He spent 17 years on the Board of Directors of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and acted as chair for the Business Issues Committee, and served as their president in 2005. Larry has also served on the Board of Directors for the Lafayette Senior Housing Association which serves as an oversight organization for “Chateau Lafayette” housing for low-income seniors. He has also been on various City of Lafayette commissions, committees, and task forces, including Design Review, Banner Advisory, the Downtown Congestion Survey, as well as a number of others. As a third generation member of the Lafayette Rotary Club, Larry was instrumental in completing the design for the Stage at the Lafayette Reservoir (a grant recipient of LCF) as well as helping with the approval process through EBMUD, the City of Lafayette, and Contra Costa County. Larry will be serving as Rotary Club president in the 2017-18. Larry received his Bachelors of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho and is a California Registered Architect. His accomplishments also include being selected as Lafayette’s Businessperson of the Year in 2008, Contra Costa Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year representing Lafayette, and obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout in Lafayette’s Boy Scout Troop 224. In addition to being a local businessman who, with his wife Karen, own and operate their 70-year-old family retail floor covering business, Larry enjoys time with his two grown children, spending time with friends, and “tinkering” on his vintage trucks which can be seen frequently around the area and at local car show events.
