Ann Appert
Ann was born and raised in the Bay Area and, following a ten-year career in finance in New York, returned to the Bay Area in 1994 to settle in Lafayette with her husband Peter and three girls. Ann has been an active community volunteer since her arrival, first as a member of Lafayette Juniors, then with the parent associations for our schools, the girl scouts and LMYA. She spent eight years on the Lafayette School District Governing Board and over 10 years on the original LCF board helping to bring the Lafayette Library’s new building into being. These community organizing experiences led to a second career at WestEd, coordinating the collaboration of over 20 state education agencies efforts to implement their Race to the Top grants.
Ann returns to the board following her recent retirement from WestEd, and is looking forward to working again on a more local level. In addition to the Community Foundation Board, Ann is a long-time member of the JF Kapnek Trust board. Kapnek is an organization dedicated to improving the health of children in Zimbabwe.
