Carol Federighi
Carol Federighi is a 46-year resident of Lafayette. She served on the Lafayette City Council from 1999 until 2012, three times as mayor. Prior to that, she was a member of the Lafayette Planning Commission for six years and the Parking Commission for ten. She is a former president of the League of Women Voters of California and served on parents’ club boards at Happy Valley Elementary and Acalanes High School. She has a BA from Stanford University and a secondary teaching credential from UC Berkeley. She taught high school history and English before starting a family and obtained her law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law when sons Craig and Brent were in college. She worked for Legal Assistance for Seniors in Oakland from 1993-2007 and practiced juvenile dependency law in Alameda County from 1995 to 2018. She was married 54 years to Doug Federighi, who died in April 2018. The Federighis have five granddaughters.
